SHAW (Sam Hwang) is a Taiwan-born, London-based DJ, producer and sound designer whose work is built on one idea: house music, engineered and produced to move the body. Across nine years in the studio and behind the decks, he has released on Warner Music Asia, Build It Records (US) and more than a dozen international labels. He co-produced “Left To Right (James Hype Edit)”, which reached #3 overall on Beatport and has 1.1M+ Spotify streams, and has placed multiple records in the Beatport Tech House Top 5. He has performed at Tomorrowland Shanghai, Ultra Music Festival Taiwan and Ministry of Sound London.
SHAW is now completing an MA in Music Production at UAL's London College of Communication. His Final Major Project treats the DJ set as a designed tool for movement. It examines how the core conventions of house music shape the way bodies respond on the dancefloor: a steady 4/4 pulse at 120–130 BPM, eight-bar phrasing, and filter-driven build and release. That work leads into his proposed PhD, Sonic Cure, which asks whether the same structures can act as rhythmic auditory stimulation to support wellbeing and movement, starting with gait rehabilitation in Parkinson's disease. He also teaches DJing and music production at London Sound Academy.
Composition, arrangement, sound design and co-production for club records, artist singles, brand and event audio, and music video scores. He works in Ableton Live and performs on Pioneer DJ systems. Material co-produced with Stereohype has been heard on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, at Hï Ibiza and at Wynn Las Vegas.

SHAW's research connects the club and the clinic. Sonic Cure looks at the structure DJs use every night: steady 4/4 metre, 120–130 BPM, eight-bar phrasing, and filter-driven build-and-release transitions. It asks whether that structure can work as a form of Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) to support gait rehabilitation in Parkinson's disease.
The aim is to turn the DJ set into a designed, measurable tool for movement.
